Finland in V1 was a very controversial nation. Being run by player [[Apinaleipapuu]], the citizens of Finland were known for their racist, homophobic, transphobic actions, along with using hacked clients for an advantage, and killing friendly players in the wilderness. One of Japan's highest-ranking members and, much later, a staff member for EarthPol, [[Chairlatte]] was transgender. Finland attacked her in chat, along with targeting her to kill. Sometime in late November, Finland stole a shield with the trans flag on it and burned it. Leader Apinaleipapuu recorded it and posted the video onto YouTube with the title "Japan päska flag" (literally Japan suicide flag). After this attack, the members of Finland started to raid the lands outside of Kyoto and Tokyo, stalking the citizens until they made claims to murder them. The Finns used Kill-Aura in this attack. After this, the Empire of Japan launched a complaint with the UN, and with Chairman Imide being a citizen of Japan, action was taken.

During a promotion for a Minecraft YouTuber, 0xbit gave the YouTuber a god bow while messing around in Athens. However, after spawning 5 Wardens, everyone died, including the YouTuber and 0xbit. '''imide''' was the first person to respawn, and amidst the chaos, grabbed the godbow off the ground, stashed it in his offhand, and left. The admins assumed the bow despawned and thus left without suspicion. However, unbeknownst to them, a random player has an impossibly powerful weapon.

The Hokkaido Republic has been at the front of questionable events during it's history on the server, including a significant rumoured case of admin abuse including world editing and gaining funds into the nation and capital (Sapporo) bank. However the claims have not been confirmed as true. Former President 0xbit served from the 12th April 2025 to 4th August 2025 (Approximately 114 days). The stepping down of leadership by 0xbit led to two split nations and a power vacuum with now The Hokkaido Republic and Better Hokkaido formerly led by Korey4907 with it's capital of Wakkanai, since August 6th Korey4907 has quit leaving Better Hokkaido.

Hosentil has since served as the acting de-facto leader of The Hokkaido Republic with new reforms and foreign policy taking shape.

The Siege of Falcon was a decisive battle in the Americas, part of NATO's attempt to halt SPQM's advance and influence in the world. The siege was spearheaded by the nation of Baltija on August 2nd against a town led by a banned mayor (Devourer of Cheese)

NATO forces quickly gathered below the banner on the platform that the Baltija leader had built around it. However, RomanDiCario had anticipated this and had previously placed a /sethome on top of glass blocks at the build height limit, directly in the banner chunk. He launched TNT minecarts, but they were noticed by the enemy and shot down—though a few slipped through and managed to kill MoNoCuRvE and CakeLordFx, who were standing at the banner.

SPQM and their allies pushed toward the banner, and a fierce battle began around the platform. SPQM’s allies were eventually able to push NATO forces into their gank, allowing SPQM forces to start mass-capping the banner. During this session, SPQM forces and their allies launched a counterattack inside Baltija’s gank, initiating a mass killing of NATO forces.

SPQM allies were later lured into a nearby cave near the gank and became trapped, making it difficult for them to return to the banner. Nonetheless, the session remained in SPQM’s favor!

'''Crete''', officially the '''City of Crete''', is a city within the [[Eastern Roman Empire]] which is situated to the southeast of Sparta. The city is known for its layered, Byzantinian-Minoan fusion style of architecture.

== Establishment ==

Crete was established on June 8th, 2025 by [[MattIsOff]] following his departure from the town of [[Constantinople]]. The area was chosen for its natural fortifications, proximity to the rest of the Eastern Roman Empire, and beautiful sea.

At the start, the city prided itself on its rapid economic growth, in thanks to MattIsOff having mined in Mexico for approximately half the servers uptime for the first 4 days. Using the newly attained wealth, claims were quickly established, first covering the entirety of Heraklion, now the Central district, and later the rest of the island.

After the island was established, many friends of MattIsOff were invited, but two key players stood out - [[Puntaro]], the co-mayor of Crete, and [[exodusky]], the person best described as the "glue of the city".

== The Execution of Exodus ==

One day, a certain member of the town opened a hatch under [[exodusky]], leading them to falling into lava and dying. This infuriated exodusky, which lead to them randomly placing stairs across the city, mildly griefing it in the process. MattIsOff temporarily revoked their trusted rank, and this turned out to be the straw which broke the camels back. Due to no longer being able to take it anymore, exodusky left the nation to go to the "exodus rock" and took her dogs with her.

Matt chased her to the ends of the Peloponnese, claimed the rock first and looked to have her rejoin, yet it was to no avail. Due to his stance on traitors due to the recent rebellion by Athens, MattIsOff was forced to attack and kill exodusky, hurting some of her dogs in the process and taking her armor to himself, yet never using it.

Exodus, enraged, decided to kill all of the dogs herself, as she no longer wished to have any attachments to the server. Exodus proceeded to first join Monaco, then leave it again. After a few weeks, exodus and Matt made up, but exodusky, once one of the more active players of Crete, now only occasionally logs on.

This conflict serves as a tale on internal disputes and how one mustn't let their rage cloud their better judgement.

== Interim Capital ==

On July 16th, after [[pmkcanadian]] was banned, MattIsOff took over as the Basileus, Emperor of the [[Eastern Roman Empire]], thus making Crete the capital while he decided on where to move the capital after [[pmkcanadian]] was still left as the mayor of [[Constantinople]], even after his ban.
On July 25th, MattIsOff became the Mayor of [[Constantinople]], succeeding [[EnnEiro]] and [[pmkcanadian]], moving the capital back to it in the process, thus ending Crete's status as the Interim Capital.

Soon after Dublin's formation, the towns of Sligeach, Gaillimh and Corcaigh were established. Each new town joined Ireland but there were immediate disagreements within the nation. Volaranara preferred a centralised structure, in which each town would provide daily tributes of resources and gold to the capital. The other towns preferred to spend time building their own towns. Relations began to deteriorate even further following various incidents. However, potential civil war never came to fruition, as Volaranara went inactive and nobody heard from him for over a month.

Following Volaranara's disappearance, other Irish towns outgrew the capital. Sligeach, in particular, was growing rapidly. This came with residents who desired to make their own towns. So, it was decided that colonies would be created in less contested areas of the world such as South Africa, New Zealand and Iceland.

As the nation continued to grow, it was decided to merge the towns of Sligeach and Gaillimh to form Connacht, now the largest and most populated town on Earthpol. During this period, the town of Kilkenny led by xGreyWulf was also formed on the island of Ireland. Soon after, Corcaigh was also merged into Connacht, meaning that only two active towns now exist in Ireland.

Under the tenure of Prime Minister MrMcPanda, MrTytanic was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister after they discussed their shared concerns about [[England V2|England]] and the rebelling Scottish town of [[Nefarious]], led by [[Arescartier]]. Their shared concern culminated in the [[Nefarious Rebellion]], in which Nefarious declared its independence from Scotland. While in the Khamag Khanate, MrTytanic documented its history in ''The Mongolian Gazette'', a weekly newspaper documenting the events of the week, notably including the Khamag Khanate's war against the town of Citadel, who had joined the nation to kill allies upon leaving. With MrMcPanda's arrival to Nebula (now rebranded as EarthPol V4), MrMcPanda and MrTytanic created the nation of [[Morocco V4|Morocco]]. Growing to be the third largest nation on the server, Morocco began to hold democratic elections, with Lunar_rrr becoming its first and only Prime Minister with 66.7% of the vote.

As Morocco slowly became inactive, MrMcPanda left the server, nominating MrTytanic as sucessor. Assuming the position of Kozar, MrTytanic began a series of reconstruction reforms, including a series of defensive tunnels under the Moroccan streets and massive autobrewers. During this time, MrTytanic had also been building his shop, ''The Khazar Bazaar'', designed to be a one-stop-shop for anything that players needed. By selling bulk items for cheap prices, most notably sand, MrTytanic was able to obtain a significant gold balance, which he used to fund the ''Moroccan Defense Force''. Taking nearly full control over every aspect in Moroccan society, MrTytanic's leadership devolved into a dictatorship, with the Moroccan Pariliament being formally abolished.

Following the continued decline in player activity, the nation of Morocco was formally disbanded and joined the prevailing nation of [[The S.P.Q.R V3|S.P.Q.R]], led at the time by [[LuciusAnnaneus]]. Although he joined SPQR, MrTytanic had not given up Moroccan resources, eventually giving them to SPQR's rival Arescartier from the nation of [[Earth (V4)|Earth]]. Following his betrayal of SPQR, MrTytanic seceded and joined [[Deutschland]] after previous talks with its leader [[grantykied]]. The remaining resources of Morocco, including many reserved potions, would be used in [[Great War]], particuarly at the [[Battle of Linz]]. Although MrTytanic had quit V4 prior to the Battle of Linz, he was soon made aware of Deustchland's defeat.

As a senator, MrTytanic worked together with [[elf_9]], [[NimbKied]], and [[te3t]]. Together, the recruited over three-hundred players, making Greece the largest nation by population. With nearly forty active citizens playing daily, Greek recruiting efforts had seemed succesful, with the vast majority of recruits living in MrTytanic's town, ''Avato''.

As the Deustchland-SPQR rivalry continued on in the server, MrTytanic, at the behest of Arescartier, created the ''Protectorate Pact,'' an alliance dedicated to fostering peace, economic prosperity, and collaboration among its members, while actively avoiding offensive warfare. In times of defensive need, all members were committed to supporting each other with resources and manpower, ensuring that the alliance remained strong and unified. MrTytanic was able to sucessfully court various nations into the alliance, including the [[United States of America]]. With armies of players behind them, the leaders of Greece decided to attack Appqle, an ally of the Ottomans, at [[Siege of Giza|Giza]].

Despite their resources, Greece was unable to win a single siege on the server, always ending in defeat against [[Apiagle]] and the rest of [[The Ottoman Empire]] (SPQR). Sensing the futile efforts to avenge their defeat at Linz, grantykied formally made peace with the Ottomans, ending their rivalry. With the rise of new nations, such as [[Homestead]], MrTytanic sensed that his time in Greece was over and formally left the dying nation to create [[Cyrenica]] with [[lucqent]]. Shortly afterward, 0xBit had officially ended V5.

Many players, particuraly those in Greece who were constantly angered by 0xBit's decision to end V5, found relief upon hearing that the new owner of EarthPol would be [[pmkcanadian]]. Taking advantage of this fact, MrTytanic, with the help of Nimbkied and [[5u5u]], created the nation of [[Iceland (Polaris)|Iceland]]. Recruiting a third of all players from Greece, Iceland grew to be a formidiable and active nation under the leadership of MrTytanic.

With the arrival of Homestead, there was a significant change to the balance of power on the server. MrTytanic, albeit reluctantly as he was opposed to war of any kind, began to be involved in the Anti-Homestead war effort, becoming allies with [[Celtic Union V3|The Anglo-Celtic Union]], led by [[Irish_Eoghan]] and [[ConorVlad|VladimirVonEire]]. Eventually, this culminated in the merge of Iceland with the Anglo-Celtic Union to form [[The North Atlantic Union]]. MrTytanic and Iceland were now firmly against the threat of Homestead. After various victories and defeats, Iceland began to grow distant from the other members of The North Atlantic Union, longing for its independence once more. Holding a vote, MrTytanic determined that Iceland would leave The North Atlantic Union. At this same time, [[1nspectual]], a pvper within Iceland, declared independence from both Iceland and The North Atlantic Union, forming his own short-lived nation: [[Tikva]]. Shortly afterward, Polaris' playercount began to wane and the server was closed by 0xBit, who revealed that he had been the owner all along and that there would be no more EarthPol.

Currently, it is the largest nation on the server by playercount, with one hundred and thirty five residents, slightly below Iceland's count of over two hundred. MrTytanic's concept of a shop nation has proven to be successful as MrTytanic is currently the second richest player on V6, with a balance of 88,797g, just behind 0xBit's 315,041g balance.

0xBit and MrTytanic, both realizing the threat that Homestead placed on the livelihood of the server with their ambitions to take over the world, created a formal alliance between Cuba and [[Cascadia V3|Cascadia]]. On August 16th, 2024, Cascadia formally declared war against Homestead, attacking their major supply depot at [[Siege of Seychelles|Seychelles]], beginning the [[Purge of Homestead]]. Soon, other nations, including [[Vespa]] and [[Portugal]], became involved in the conflict, providing gear and players to win the war. Within days, Homestead was being attacked on every front, with sieges at Belgrano, Valhalla, and their capital Birmingham. While there were many defeats against Homestead's army, the Protectorate Pact continued its war against Homestead. Shortly after siege weekend, Homestead announced that they would be quitting the server. After EarthPol was updated to 1.21, the remaining Homestead players began to take advantage of an unpatched duping bug. This led to 0xBit and MrTytanic deleting any Homestead towns from the server and banning all of its players that participated in the dupe.

== Community Involvement ==
In V5, at the recommendation of lucqent, MrTytanic applied to be a helper on the [[EarthPol Staff Team]], eventually being hired by [[KeijoDPutt]]. While certainly unqualified for the position, MrTytanic embraced his role by answering tickets and being involved in the server's success. With the end of V5 and creation of Polaris, MrTytanic was asked to become a Moderator by the new server owner, pmkcanadian. When 0xBit began to consider a new EarthPol version, 0xBit envisioned pmkcanadian as the server owner in his name. However, pmkcanadian resigned from the position ten days prior, making MrTytanic an obvious choice for a successor. Within less than a week, MrTytanic was able to put all necessary infastructure in place, including a staff team, support server, and planning for future updates/events.

Since V2, MrTytanic has been a reporter on [[EarthPol Live]], the server's main news network. He covered a variety of events on the server's history, including the notable termination of [[SunnyIsRad]] and KawadaJP from the EarthPol staff team. Additionally, he created various videos and documents for both EarthPol Live and Polaris Community, which unfortunately have been lost to time. He became the Manager of EarthPol Live in V6, following the resignation of [[thicc_bois]].
