Gawgitta (stylized in lowercase) is a retired EarthPol player best known for his role during Version 4 (Nebula) as the King of Norelaw, a constituent realm of the High Kingdom of Noregr. A founding monarch and early explorer, gawgitta left a notable mark on the politics and lore of the North Sea region before retiring from EarthPol entirely. He has not returned since V4 and is considered inactive.

Early Career and Icebergia

gawgitta joined EarthPol on 23 August 2021 and was recruited the same day by the now-defunct nation of Icebergia, based in Iceland. During his time with Icebergia, he undertook a long maritime voyage from Iceland to Japan and chronicled the journey in a written in-game book titled Gaw's Log, which remains one of the few surviving personal travel accounts from V4.

He later participated in the Siege of Reykjavik, where he engaged in battle against defenders of the city. Though he planned an ambitious airdrop operation using poisonous splash potions, the plan was never executed. gawgitta was not present during Icebergia's eventual fall, marking the end of his initial involvement in global affairs.

Founding of Norelaw

After a brief hiatus, gawgitta returned with a new purpose: to found and lead a Norse kingdom on the island of Britain. On 10 October 2021, he was crowned the first King of Norelaw, a newly established vassal realm under the High Kingdom of Noregr. From its inception, Norelaw was also part of the broader North Sea Empire, a political bloc comprising several Norse-aligned states.

He selected Wyke, located in the Bay of Hull, as the capital of Norelaw. Under his leadership, the kingdom expanded significantly, most notably with the acquisition of Caerdydd (Cardiff) in Wales. Although subordinate to Noregr, Norelaw began to emerge as a key power within the empire, especially in the British Isles.

Legacy and Retirement

gawgitta's reign was defined by his dedication to Norse unity and territorial consolidation in Britain and Wales. His actions contributed to the stabilization and growth of the North Sea Empire during a time of regional restructuring.

Since the end of Version 4, gawgitta has not returned to EarthPol and is regarded as retired from the server. Nonetheless, his contributions to the history of Noregr and the early expansion of Norse influence in the west are remembered as a defining chapter in the politics of V4.
