History

Early History

Persia, Iran's predecessor, was founded by OneSpookyGhost on the 13th of June, 2025, alongside his partner in crime 8set. Persia expanded rapidly, becoming a relatively large nation within the Middle East and enjoying a boost of activity.

Government

The government of Iran is outlined in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It consists of three branches: The Supreme Leader, The Executive Power, and the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

The Supreme Leader is the highest authority in Iran, and serves as the spiritual and political head. The Supreme Leader is in charge of delineating general policy, supervising the execution of general policy, serving as the Commander of the Armed Forces, declaring war and peace and mobilizing the Armed Forces, and vetoing bills passed by the Assembly if deemed to be against the Constitution or religion.

The Executive Power consists of the President of the Islamic Republic, the head of the Iranian Government. The President holds the responsibility of implementing the Constitution and acting as the head of the Executive in all matters not concerned with the office of the Supreme Leader. The President serves in one month terms elected by direct vote from the citizens of Iran. In times deemed necessary by the Supreme Leader, they may extend the President's term indefinitely. The President is responsible for signing treaties and international agreements, presenting bills to the Assembly, appointing government offices under the supervision of the Supreme Leader, and any and all duties the Supreme Leader devolves to them.

The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majiles) is the legislative body of Iran. The Majiles are elected by general election overseen by the Supreme Leader, in which a predetermined number of Members with the most votes receive membership for a one month term. The number of Members is determined by the Supreme Leader, under advice of the Majiles, but may not exceed 10 Members. In times deemed necessary by the Supreme Leader, Members for that month will not be voted in but rather made up of the Mayors from across Iran. The Majiles are responsible for representing the people of Iran in the government, holding the Executive Body and the Supreme Leader responsible, debating, approving, and denying bills through legislative processes, debate the public policies of the Executive, remove the President under a no confidence vote, debate the Government's budget, and debate and deny the signing of international treaties and alliances.
