Purge of Homestead
The Purge of Homestead was a major conflict on EarthPol that marked the downfall of the Homestead clan, a PvP-focused group that openly rejected the server’s core values of diplomacy and geopolitics. After declaring their intent to claim the entire Earth map and threatening all independent nations, Homestead became a unifying enemy. In response, the Cuban Empire and Cascadia formed the Protectorate Pact, launching an economic embargo and rallying server-wide opposition. Following Homestead’s defeat, their retaliatory gold dupe campaign led to permanent bans and the erasure of their towns. The event remains one of EarthPol’s most pivotal turning points—a clear message that aggression without diplomacy has no future on the server.
Background
Homestead joined EarthPol in 2023, bringing with them a disruptive style of gameplay rooted in PvP, raiding, and domination. While PvP is an accepted part of EarthPol, Homestead's refusal to engage in diplomacy, constant harassment of smaller and newer players, and lack of regard for the server's geopolitical structure created immediate friction.
The final straw came when Homestead made a public declaration: "If you're trying to make a nation inside this server you will be an enemy as you are in the Earth Empire claims."
This was not just a threat, it was a declaration of war on the server’s entire political ecosystem. They effectively claimed the entire map and promised to oppose anyone attempting to form their own state. It was a direct attack on the core gameplay loop of EarthPol.
Formation of the Protectorate Pact
Cuba and Cascadia formed the Protectorate Pact, a defensive and economic alliance to protect the sovereignty of existing nations and promote peaceful internationalism.
The Pact's first move was a full embargo: no Cuban or Cascadian goods or services would be traded with Homestead. A propaganda campaign followed, spreading awareness of Homestead’s goals and urging other nations to follow suit. The response was overwhelming—many other players and nations joined the embargo and pledged support to the Pact’s cause.
The War against Homestead
Homestead’s Protest and Collapse
Outmatched diplomatically and increasingly isolated, Homestead attempted to flip the narrative by launching a so-called “protest against EarthPol.” They briefly left the server and issued a list of outlandish demands, including full public access to staff commands—clearly unrealistic and unserious.
These demands were categorically denied. Homestead returned to the server, only to find themselves even more isolated and vulnerable than before. Their military power was no match for the united front opposing them.
Dupe Campaign
In a final act of defiance, Homestead launched a gold duplication exploit—an economic attack meant to destabilize the server. While the damage was real, it was short-lived. EarthPol’s staff quickly identified the source and responded decisively.
The Purge of Homestead
All known Homestead members were permanently banned from the server. The dupe sealed their fate, erasing any chance of redemption or reintegration. The towns of Homestead were deleted. Their items and bases were left unprotected, free to be looted and griefed by the rest of the server. The remnants of Homestead became a ruinous warning of what happens when power is wielded with no regard for cooperation, community, or consequence.
Legacy
The Purge of Homestead became a defining moment in EarthPol history. It reaffirmed the server’s dedication to geopolitics over griefing, cooperation over domination, and diplomacy over brute force. The actions of Cuba, Cascadia, and the broader community prevented a server-wide collapse—and helped ensure EarthPol would remain a place for storytelling, strategy, and nation-building.
Homestead's legacy is now a cautionary tale: those who try to kill the server will be purged.
